We do offer on-site cemetery engraving. To place an order the following information is needed: name of cemetery, family name on front of headstone (this is the large name; usually the last name), section and lot number. We also ask for some of the existing names on the back of the stone (the names of the people listed on the back), we do this to ensure we are at the correct headstone.
Then we need the information you would like to add to the stone exactly how you would like it to appear, for example if the last person already inscribed in the stone is the Mother of the person we are adding, do you want to put a term of endearment such as “Her Son” or “Her Daughter” before we list the next name. These are all things to think about before engraving.
Lastly we need the purchasers name, billing information and a good phone number. Sometimes when the engraver is out in the cemetery and has questions he will give you a call.
***Disclaimer: Cemetery engraving is weather dependent. We cannot engrave when it is raining or if the stone is wet at all, the abrasive used will not work and the paint applied will not last. We also avoid lettering when it is severely hot outside because our engraver has to where a helmet and equipment to protect himself from the sand. Our timeframe is currently about 1-2 months give or take a little. Please always feel free to call in and check on the status but please keep these factors in mind.
