Slant headstones are an upright style of memorial, but with a sloped face that angles back for easier visibility. Like traditional uprights, they are typically made of two pieces: the slant itself and the base it sits on. Slants are shorter than full upright monuments, usually no more than 22 inches tall, and they are commonly paired with a 6-inch base rather than the standard 8-inch base used for larger monuments. This creates a lower profile while still providing a clear, readable front face. Slant headstones are a practical option for families who want an upright appearance without the height of a full monument.
